From dusk to dawn
The shape of the night
Nine hours is a long time if you have never done it — so here is what the night actually looks like. Come for all of it or any part of it: the door is open the whole way through, and the langar at 8pm is for everybody.

7pm
Aarti
The night opens the way every evening here opens — with aarti before Maa, as the light goes out of the sky.

9:30pm
Jyoti Prachand
The jyoti is kindled. From this moment her flame burns without pause until morning, and the vigil truly begins.

2am
Tararani Katha
In the small hours the katha is told — the story of Maa, recited to those still keeping watch with her.

4am
Maha Aarti
As the first light comes, the great aarti. The night is complete — and nobody who stayed will forget it.
