Your wedding, before Maa
A Hindu wedding at the mandir is more than a venue booking — it is vivah performed properly, by our priest, in a house of God. And because the mandir is registered for marriages, your ceremony here can also be your legal marriage.
One sacred place — ceremony and celebration
Most banqueting venues cannot legally marry you — couples hold a ceremony in one place, then queue at a register office in another. At the mandir it is different:
- The mandir is registered for the solemnisation of marriages under the Marriage Act 1949 — your vivah here is your legal marriage.
- An authorised person is in place, and registrar attendance is available subject to availability on application.
- Our priest performs the full vivah — Ganesh pooja, kanyadaan, mangal phere around the sacred fire, saptapadi — with care and explanation for every generation of your family.
- Celebrate in the same building — our hall hosts 200+ guests, with catering arranged in-house or brought in.
The legal part, made simple
- Give notice of marriage at your local register office (both partners; this is a legal requirement for every marriage in England).
- Book your date with the mandir. Registrar attendance is arranged on application with Wolverhampton Register Office, subject to availability — or the mandir's authorised person can register your marriage.
- On the day: your Hindu ceremony, your legal marriage, your celebration — one place, one blessing.
The mandir's registration covers marriages between a man and a woman. We will gladly talk you through every step — get in touch early in your planning.
